Reflecting on the Last Year: A Banner Year in 2024

As the calendar flips once again (well, it’s now February)… it’s time to take a step back and reflect on the whirlwind of experiences that defined the past year. And what a year it was! 2024 was truly a banner year, filled with professional achievements, personal milestones, and the kind of joyful chaos that makes life so fulfilling.

The Highs: A Year of Growth and Success

This year was incredibly rewarding for my photography business. As a Houston family photographer and Houston newborn photographer, I had the privilege of capturing over 50 newborn sessions, 19 family sessions, 11 milestone sessions, and 16 maternity sessions. Each session was a unique experience, and I am so grateful for the families who trusted me to document their most precious moments. Seeing my work grow and flourish has been a highlight of the year, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds.

The Biggest Blessing: Welcoming Baby Annie

Beyond the success in my business, the biggest and most beautiful moment of 2024 was welcoming my third child, a baby girl named Annie! She has been an absolute joy, and watching Hudson and Miller step into their roles as big brothers has been heartwarming. Of course, our golden retriever remains as jealous as ever, but he’s adjusting to the new family dynamic in his own way.

The Unexpected Joys

One of the biggest lessons of this year? The beauty of the unexpected. Some of the best moments weren’t the ones meticulously planned but those that came as happy surprises—a spontaneous adventure with the kids, a quiet moment of reflection, or the laughter that fills our home in the most ordinary of moments.

Looking Ahead

With a new year on the horizon, there’s a mix of excitement and curiosity for what’s to come. There are goals to chase, dreams to nurture, and an open road ahead filled with possibilities. If this past year has taught me anything, it’s that life is ever-evolving, and the best we can do is embrace the ride, with all its twists and turns.
